The Clubhouse has become the “it place” to be. It makes me wish I was still in school. It’s here, where you can get a healthy, tasty and balanced meal prepared by our own Farm2Fork team. After their lunch the children also take the responsibility to clean their own plate.
Part of our daily programme is gardening. This is the part where the children connect with nature and learn to nurture. All the plants, trees, gardening equipment and compost were sponsored by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). Professor Deon Meiring played a big role in this project. Our youth enjoy getting their hands dirty, working the soil. We are currently working on our veggie bed.
The children receive help with homework in the afternoons. One of our main achievements is the tutor from the University of Stellenbosch (Kathryn Mellor) who is currently working with our matriculants to get them ready for the June exams.
If I was still on school I would definitely be at “The Clubhouse”.
