At the Institute we focus on food systems, social innovation, optimal resource flows and transformative learning from birth. The Lynedoch Eco-village is pioneering approaches to creating socially diverse ecological communities. It is an emerging ecologically designed, socially mixed community from diverse racial and social economic groups built around a learning precinct, and this unique experience has generated insights into what it means to build up from below the foundations for a more sustainable world.
The village is a financially and economically viable community requiring no external funding to sustain itself. It is a working example of a liveable ecologically designed urban system that challenges the notion that sustainable development and ecological building is too expensive. We invite you to come and learn more!
