Eduardo Shimahara

Shima was born in São Paulo, Brazil. A mechanical engineer for 10 years, he led teams in France and Spain before leaving his career to co-found and work in the 6th largest group of private universities in Brazil. He is a former student at the SI, where he did his Masters in Food Systems.

His next project took him around the world visiting innovative schools such as Yip, the Green School in Bali and led him to the SI. This story is told in a book "Around the World in 14 Schools". Shima is a Mechanical Engineer (FEI), holds a PGD in Cooperative Games (Centro Universitario Monte Serrat) and a Masters in Sustainable Development (University of Stellenbosch). With his passion for sustainable development, education, food and people, Shima started a new venture connecting the Southern Hemisphere through deep learning journeys. Shima also loves to play djembe, didgeridoo and enjoys being among people that follow their dreams.
