Over the past year, Blake and Natalie from the SI Projects team have been working with Nedbank and the Green Building Council on a booklet aimed at inspiring greener ways of living in South African homes.
The Green Living Guide features photography from local environmentally friendly homes (including one at Lynedoch Eco Village) and provides a range of ideas for saving water and energy, and reducing waste and environmental degradation.
These interventions range from low or no cost behavioural changes to more significant investments like solar water heaters and natural pools, and the layout allows readers to easily identify options that suit their budget.
The guide was launched in October, and was distributed to the delegates of the Global Green Building Convention 2013 in their goodie bags.
