The WITS School of Architecture and Planning, in collaboration with the Sustainability Institute and PREA (Promoting Renewable Energy Africa) partners will be hosting the second PREA conference on the 11th – 13th of October, at the Sustainability Institute. The conference will be of value to policy-makers (especially municipal and provincial officials), built environment professionals (architects, planners, quantity surveyers, engineers), financiers, developers, NGO/CBO staff, academics and journalists engaged with renewable and sustainable energy initiatives in the built environment.
Key theme presentations will be followed by interactive group sessions in line with the overall theme and there will be case study field trips on day 3. The group sessions will include discussions on peak oil, urban form, green-building by-laws and rating systems, renewable energy integration, bio-fuels, energy poverty, health and safety.
