SDI has affiliated structures in 24 developing countries. In South Africa, the Federation of the Urban Poor (FEDUP) is affiliated to SDI. FEDUP is supported by the Community Organisation Resource Centre (CORC) and the uTshani Fund. The SI works with these organisations with respect to capacity building and project support. On request by SDI, Mark Swilling (accompanied by his son Michael), visited the Philippines during the week of 5th November 2006 to review the work of a strong SDI affiliate, namely the Homeless People’s Federation of the Philippines (HPFP).
