Change Maker programme

Individuals and organisations alike are searching for new ways of doing business, and more importantly for better and more sustainable solutions to the complex challenges we are facing in our world today.

The Change Maker Programme was launched in 2016 as a platform to equip motivated Change Makers with the knowledge, tools and skills to have direct, real world impact and contribute to a more resilient, abundant and equitable future for all Africans.

By offering a holistic programme - underpinned by a Masters degree, with a series of public engagement events and workshops – we aim to create a space in which participants are able to develop socially and environmentally purpose driven initiatives and ideas, and to ultimately enable participants to become leaders of change. Our programme offers an equally substantive and academically rigorous grounding in both social and environmental sustainability – which we recognise as inextricably linked and mutually dependent.

Enrol in the Change Maker Programme

The Change Maker Programme enables students to explore innovative ideas and theories throughout their studies, and to gain valuable and practical tools and skills that they can apply to real situations.

By combining modules, workshops, speaker events and field trips will teach students complexity and systems thinking to better equip them with the thinking, mind-set and skills to bring about meaningful change, and also assist them in developing a concrete and holistic innovation that they can take forward once they graduate.

All the events are open to the public, i.e. you do not have to be enrolled as a student at the SI to participate in the workshops or attend the speaker events.  If you would like to receive more information on any particular event, please email Vanessa Von der Heyde or find us on our Change Maker Programme Facebook page.
