An inspired contribution

Gifting and donation opportunities

Our programmes benefiting the children, youth and elders of the Lynedoch Valley are able to develop and grow thanks to donations. Our donation vouchers let you choose a programme that resonates with you and contribute an amount of your choice directly to that programme. Donating on a loved one’s behalf is also a wonderful and meaningful gift to someone with a love for children, community and creating just futures.

Browse through the options below and see the impact your contribution can make. Donate knowing exactly how far your contribution can go. You will receive a beautiful donation certificate, either for yourself, or as a personalised gift to your loved one.

All vouchers must be paid for via EFT before they are issued. Download the step-by-step guide for purchasing a voucher below. Thank you for considering making a contribution to one of our programmes!

Lynedoch Children's House

Lynedoch Children's House

Imagination, creativity and learning are grounded at Lynedoch in early childhood development. More than 65 children attend the Lynedoch Children's House both in the Infant Community (Birth – 3 years) and Children's House (3 – 6 years). A Montessori approach sees in each child an innate love of learning. If children are encouraged to develop freely, within sensible boundaries, they connect to a small community and the world around them. Safe and welcoming, the centre aims to nurture every facet of the extraordinary potential in the lives of these tiny humans. These foundational years are formative for a lifetime of learning and development, in deep love and respect for nature.

By donating to the Lynedoch Children's House you’ll be contributing to this integrated and ecologically focused learning and nature-based play. The buildings are designed according to ecological building principles, children play in the natural gardens and participate each day in growing, harvesting and cooking of organic vegetables.

The impact your donation can make:
  • R500 = a child’s attendance for one month
  • R1500 = a child’s attendance for one quarter
  • R3000 = a child’s attendance for one term
Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons

During the heat of summer, the children in the Lynedoch farming community love to cool down in the farm dams and rivers of Stellenbosch. Unfortunately, many of them are not able to swim and the community has lost some of its youngest due to drowning incidents. Our swimming project wants to change this by taking primary school learners for swimming lessons during the school holidays. Your donation will support the swimming lessons of these children, thereby keeping them safe as they splash and play in the hot winelands summer.

The impact your donation can make:

  • R750 = swimming lessons for three children from the Lynedoch community for one month
  • R500 = swimming lessons for two children from the Lynedoch community for one month
  • R250 = swimming lessons for one child from the Lynedoch community for one month
Lynedoch Youth Hub

Lynedoch Youth Hub

The Youth Hub was established to create an effective and holistic intervention point for school going youth and young adults in the Lynedoch Valley. Through the Youth Hub we seek to instil responsibility to self, environment and community, a proactive role in their own lives, a thirst for knowledge, a positive work ethic, freedom and fun within limits and a sense of belonging. Our high school learner interventions include the provision of strong academic support in order for them to complete their schooling, as well as providing information on opportunities available to them after high school.

By donating to the Youth Hub you’ll contribute to keeping alive this safe, fun space where the youth can come together to build positive relationships and secure support and acknowledgement.

The impact your donation can make:

  • R500 = one full year of participation for one young adult
  • R250 = six months of participation for one young adult
  • R100 = one term of participation for one young adult
  • R50 = one month of participation for one young adult

Knitting Club

Knitting Club

The Lynedoch Knitting Club provides essential support and community to the elderly in the Lynedoch region. This includes the farm community beyond the Eco-Village. Grandmothers are often tasked with looking after the children and the knitting club provides them an opportunity to indulge in their hobby for a few hours, to get out of the house, and to connect with their fellow community members. Your donation to the club will provide the means to purchase wool, pens, and refreshments for these very special, yet often overlooked, members of our community.

The impact your donation can make:

  • R500 = knitting club participation of three grannies
  • R250 = knitting club participation of two grannies
  • R100 = knitting club participation of one granny
Karate Programme

Karate Programme

Sensei Tony Edwards teaches Kushido to learners of SPARK Lynedoch during school hours. Kushido is an international karate system that was founded in South Africa in 1963. Classes concentrate on developing self-defence skills and true Martial Art characteristics within the practitioner. This includes a healthy body and mind, discipline, focus and respect. By donating to the Karate Programme you’ll be supporting these scholars in learning a disciplined technique that will also benefit them outside the karate class, in school, at home, and beyond.

The impact your donation can make:

  • R500 = one month of participation for one karate scholar
  • R250 = two weeks of participation for one karate scholar
